Dr. Evangelos C. Papakitsos has been a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff of the Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering at the University of West Attica, since February 2019, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is a Physicist (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens) with postgraduate studies in Information Systems (University of Liverpool), Career Guidance and Counseling (Athens University of Economics & Business; Panteion University of Social & Political Sciences), and a doctoral degree of Informatics (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens) in Natural Language Processing with post-doctoral research in Semantic Lexical Databases and Machine Translation. His research interests include fields of Digital Humanities (e.g., Education, Counseling, Career Guidance, Linguistics), Systems Science, natural language engineering, environmental monitoring, energy and power systems, applications of robotics and optimization methods in operational research, management of engineering. He is an author or co-author of almost 200 articles (2022), published in scientific journals, conference proceedings and book chapters, as well as of 35 books, monographs, software documentation and other studies. Since 1993, he has conducted undergraduate and postgraduate courses in four tertiary education institutes of Greece (SELETE/ASPETE, TEI of Piraeus, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and National Technical University of Athens) and, finally, he had been occupied in the private and public secondary and post-secondary education (1990-2018) as a teacher of Informatics and Physics, and as a Career Counselor.
