The aim of the course is to understand today’s ecological problem, to consolidate the basic principles of sustainable development in Europe and the world, and to specialize and promote knowledge in sustainable development systems. In addition, the aim of the course is to acquire knowledge and skills so that the participants understand and deal with the issues of development and environmental quality in the perspective of sustainability, to systematically and critically interpret environmental issues, recognizing the social, natural, economic and their political views. In this course, issues related to sustainability (environmental and social) and sustainable development are presented and discussed. In particular, issues related to energy and its management, water resources management, natural management, strategies for improving the urban environment in the perspective of sustainability, designing sustainable cities and environmental policy issues are discussed. Issues regarding the obligations of institutions and organizations for the development of practices, in the perspective of environmental protection and sustainability, are also developed and at the same time the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is discussed as a tool for developing the cooperation of institutions and organizations.
